Division of teams into groups
As soon as we received final confirmation of participation from all fifty-two teams in the form of paid entry fees, we began taking further steps in organizing the tournament, including dividing teams into groups. We seeded Czech teams based on their placement in the June Czech Cup for the respective age category, and we filled the groups with foreign teams and Czech teams that did not participate in the June cups at our discretion.
Unfortunately, we encountered the issue that teams in the groups met teams that faced each other within their regional championships, but this is very difficult to combat when it's necessary to take into account the similar strength of the groups and also the transportation options for the teams for the first Thursday games of the tournament. Once the teams were seeded into groups, the first version of the schedules was created and sent to the clubs for review. Currently, changes are being made to the schedules according to the needs of the individual teams, and we believe that by July 25, we should have the match schedules finalized and published on this website as well as on the CBA website.
